Following on from the successes of their debut release Retroceso 1..2..3, which saw lead single ‘6Phase’ gain rotation on JJJ and the band take to the road on a JJJ tour with Youth Group and Bit By Bats, i [love] Space return with a darker, more defined sound on their second official release, birds.attack.

In order to stay in front one must remain behind. And while every other band is currently mired in all things 80s and angular, there's one bunch of Sydney-siders who are taking their cues from the epic, noise laden soundscapes of another decade. While you may recognise brothers Dave and Anthony The (pronounced 'Tay') from Sydney shoegazers Ides of Space, and bassist Paul Youdell from his founding stint in Faker, this is a project that exceeds the musical scope of both, and if you scratch a bit deeper you'll find a band who may be informed by the past, but look squarely to the future. Dave's reverb drenched vocals provide the perfect counterpoint to his wall of sound guitar attack and to his brother's propulsive yet precise drumming. When you add Youdell, who can only be described as Kevin Sheilds on four strings, to the mix, you've got one of the most sonically exciting bands to roar out of Sydney. With shoegaze clubs opening up all over London and LA, sparking a revival of interest in dark, moody sonic music, skullsquadron seem to have landed at just the right time. Their debut EP, is slated for an early 2006 release.

With their charismatic brit-grit performances and their moody pop-rock tunes, Sydney based Phonograph put the talent back in indie cool. In 2003, the Phonograph boys were drawn together via their shared passion for the brit-pop paradise of past. Yet their first EP, Black and Blue, showed Phonograph were not devoid of Australian rock sensibilities. In Black and Blue the boys balanced out their brit-pop influences with some dark rock sentiment. Their second EP, modestly and misleadingly titled Sucker in the Cool, allowed Phonograph to display their hit-single writing abilities. Sucker was a hit with radio and live audiences alike; a particular favourite of all the tight-black jeans wearing folk. Its certainly their potent combination of skill and style that has seen Phonograph successes so far. Whether its from their poses in Marie Claire Magazine or their reviews in industry press - people know Phonograph have it. The Phonograph boys are each talented and distinctive. Live and on record they combine their unique sounds and energies to push themselves and their audiences beyond the traditional boundaries of pop, of rock, and of performance.

When Richard In Your Mind perform, audience members are so emersed in the band's incredible aura of pschedelic arson that they feel woozy and start to vomit up fractals. Timothy Leary once licked Richard In Your Mind. This turned him into GOD and led him to proclaim that "Richard In Your Mind IS evolution!" Richard In Your Mind is Richard (guitar/vox/sitar), Conrad who also plays in Terrapin (bass/vox/keyboard), Elston (guitar/bass/keyboard) and Nick (drums/precussion/guitar). The Drum Media says that Richard In Your Mind are "acid-dub-psych-freak-kids" The Brag says Richard In Your Mind are "psych-gonzo-weirdos" Richard In Your Mind say that they are merely the pure, untainted voice of Lord SHIVA, moist and glistening like the falling tears of an enraged amoeba. Richard In Your Mind are new but are already considered legends among those that have witnessed their narcotic brilliance. They have played with the likes of Mark Bradshaw (of Dappled Cities Fly), JJJ's The Bedroom Philosopher, Jack Ladder, Terrapin, I [Love] Space, Wons Phreely, The Fumes and many more. They will probably be supporting Beck, The Flaming Lips and Ween in a year or two. If you look at your watch during a Richard In Your Mind show, you will notice that the numbers have disappeared leaving only the word NOW in their place. RICHARD IN YOUR MIND - TO INFINITY AND BEYOND
