Back story – a little over a month ago Brendan Maclean (artist/ triple J presenter) was interviewed for an online article titled “Why I Wont Miss the Sando”. This caused an overwhelming response from all walks of life who clearly have passion for live music and more specifically the state of the scene in Sydney. Maclean received answers ranging from kudos to death threats. You can read the original story here - http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/features/33141/Brendan-Maclean-Why-I-wont-miss-The-Sando

Matt Rule (Annandale Hotel owner) felt empathy for Sando owner Tony Townsend and wrote a letter to Maclean offering an alternate perspective - http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/33147/The-Annandale-defends-The-Sando

Following this Maclean got in touch with Matt Rule to extend his interest in discussing the topic further. The next day Rule & Maclean sat down in the Annandale Hotel beer garden for what proved to be an incredibly insightful chat. The team at FasterLouder sat in on this and had it transcribed - http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/features/33193/The-Annandale-vs-Brendan-Maclean-Will-live-music-survive

After this was publicized there was a call for a similar event to be take place with the public involved. If you look in the comments section of the above three articles it is perfectly clear there are plenty of people out there who care strongly for our live music scene. If you are one of these people we urge you to come along to this very special one off event aiming at bettering the state of the Sydney live music scene and more specifically the relationships between venues and artists.

Yours sincerely,
The Annandale Team
