Shinobi are a Sydney-based 4-piece rock band that spent 40 days recording their debut album in late 2011 at The Grove Studios on the NSW Central Coast with producer Darren Jenkins. The boys live shows pack a punch with their big ballsy sound which fans have likened to a heavier Foo Fighters with touches of Helmet and Shihad.

The band comprises of front man Eric Grothe Jnr, who after many years on the footy field decided to hang up his footy boots and pursue his first real love ‘Music.’ Teaming up with his brother Daniel on bass and life long mates Darren Stapleton on guitar and Wayne Langfield on drums.
Their first EP tracks were top selections in triple J’s unearthed program, and in 2012 one of the EP singles – “Trouble” was used in a National Geographic documentary called “The Aussie Way Up”. Trouble to date has had nearly 18,000 Youtube hits and is very much a favourite amongst fans.

That was until the first single “Against the Brave” off the forthcoming debut album, was released in late May. With nearly over 7,000 Youtube hits in just a few weeks. Channel Nine has also used the single on sport highlights, and has been used as a teaser for an up and coming web series Dead Heart created by Kristy Best. It’s also getting regular airplay on radio stations across Australia. All thanks to the power of word of mouth and social media.

“Against the Brave” will also feature in Australia’s new surf movie “One Touch,” along with “Trouble” from Shinobi’s first EP. One Touch is out on the 1st July 2012 in selected Event and Hoyts Cinemas.
Another track was recently used in another one of Channel Nine’s extreme sports highlights package. A single and more videos will be released in coming weeks followed by their debut album UP AGAINST THE BRAVE. Which will be released in late July, followed by a tour.
This year the boys are planning a huge year and aim to bring their solid aussie rock to the airwaves and to venues Australia-wide. The online sphere is just buzzing with anticipation.
