  | Liberation Music present TZU with Galapagoose
Annandale Hotel Cnr. Parramatta Rd & Nelson St Annandale, NSW Australia
Friday 18 May 2012 8:00 PM | Liberation Music are over the moon to announce the return of Australia’s own genre-defying trend- setters, TZU.
The band are getting ready to wow us with their striking new single ‘Beginning of the End’, which is due for release on April 2. And if this isn’t enough good news for you on a Monday afternoon, there’s even a big national tour to boot.
The new single ‘Beginning of the End’, is, to put it very simply, about The End. It sees the band at their finest, seamlessly merging genres and sounds, whilst tackling current global issues head on to create a glorious alternative pop statement. Following the single release, TZU will release Album #4 in the second half of 2012, a collection of original and charismatic tunes that will see them delve further into the electronic direction they explored on Computer Love and ensure they stay two steps ahead of the rapidly expanding pack. The band’s last album, the bulk-ace Computer Love was a Triple J feature and saw them nominated for the AMP shortlist and the J Award Album of the Year, along with an APRA for Best Hip-Hop Artist.
Here's a quick recap to bring you up to speed
JOELISTICS Joel lived in Mongolia, Beijing and Paris throughout 2009 and 2010 working as a travel writer. He also wrote and produced his own solo album Voyager, which was released in 2011. Voyager was nominated for an Australian Independent Music award and saw Joel touring Australia and Europe extensively. In 2012, Joel released an EP The Shining and is currently hard at work on a film script.
YEROC Yeroc made TWO babies (!) and survived a mid-life crisis, which included a failed attempt to become a contestant on the Amazing Race Australia. Pretty impressive. He also found work as a voice over artist, was an extra in a Bollywood film and won a trip for two to Hawaii on Deal or No Deal. Musically, he worked on his new project Damn Moroda (with James Mangohig from Sietta), remixing national and international artists and producing a self-titled Damn Moroda EP.
COUNTBOUNCE Countbounce aka Pip Norman spent a lot of time finessing his production and writing skills, working with a range of artists from Urthboy and Grey Ghost to Sparkadia and Daniel Merriweather and more. Thankfully, he has also produced ‘Beginning of the End’.
PASO BIONIC Paso was kept busy recording and releasing music. He released an album with Curse of Dialect in 2009 and is currently set to release another with Audego. He gigged extensively with Busdriver, Hermitude, Sietta and Audego. He is now working on a new Paso Bionic release.
Now back in action as TZU, the boys have pitted all of their formidable talents together to bring you their new (musical) baby. So get up with the new TZU single ‘Beginning of the End’ and then get down at their shows.
New single and show tickets both on sale Monday April 2.
