Jager Uprising is an event formed by Jagermeister in conjunction with The Annandale Hotel to showcase up-and-coming local talent to Sydney's live music scene and the music industry. We understand how difficult and expensive it is to book and play a successful gig whilst also attracting media and industry attention. By playing Jager Uprising your band can showcase its musical talents whilst also adding to your live show resume, giving you more of a profile for when you next approach a venue or booking agent.

The Jager Uprising receives press every week with your name appearing in our weekly Drum Media and Brag Magazine advert, on our website, as well as our newsletter to our 10,000+ database. We also focus on advertising via myspace and facebook and all free online websites.

Throughout the year selected acts that are of outstanding quality and bring good sized crowds will be chosen for headliner supports and maybe even offered a show of their own. Jagermeister and The Annandale Hotel are giving your band the chance to make a big splash in the local live scene and music industry alike. It's a fantastic chance to play a live gig and show everyone what you've got! Then who knows where it may lead…

In return we ask that you support and publicise the event as much as possible, bring all your friends, family and fan base and make sure it's a successful night for all involved. If you tick all the boxes you will be asked back to play at The Annandale!

Frequently asked questions

- How is the competition judged?
Each week we have special guest judges, including the hotel owners and bookers.
Bands will be judged on:
* Musicianship
* Originality
* Promotions (how they promoted the event, how many people they bought along etc)

- What are the best ways a band can stand out in their heat?
Bands who do the right thing by the hotel and promote every way they can, will be noticed.
Be creative in promoting ie. Make it a single/ep/album launch if you can, make up flyers and distribute them, create a competition/giveaway. Make it your night!

- What happens after our heat?
You will be contacted the day after your heat being told how the night went.
Then you wait patiently to see if you have made it into your monthly final. If you standout in all of the judged areas you will more than likely be asked back!

- What are the prizes?
The winner of the monthy finals will walk away with a cash prize, on the night
*Amount to be confirmed for the new 2010/11 season.

- Who have the past winners been?
2009/2010 BAYONETS FOR LEGS
2008/2009 THE WINTER PEOPLE
2007/2008 VAUDEVILLE
